The Book Of Job Is Written Like A News Report

There was a man in the land of Uz…
Job 1:1A

Now there was a day when the sons of God (Angels) came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?” So Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”
Job 1:6-7 (1 Peter 5:8)

Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?”
Job 1:8

Is God Tempting Satan To Do Evil To Job?

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.
James 1:13

It’s a Question, Not A Statement
Job 1:8 Pulpit Commentary
“Verse 8. – And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered?
Literally, Hast thou set thine heart on?
Equivalent to “Hast thou given thine attention to?”

Proper Interpretation!!!!
God’s Asking Satan A Question!!!!
Why Have You So Set Your Heart On Job He Is A Good and Godly Man?

So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!” And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
Job 1:9-12

God’s Statement Is A Statement Fact, Not Permission

giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love
Colossians 1:12

My Opinion!!!!!
It’s Quite Possible That God’s Statement Was A Statement of Education

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, 8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
1 Corinthians 2:7-8

In Job 1:13-20 Children, Servants, Sheep, And Camels Are Killed

And he said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.” In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong.
Job 1:20

Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil? And still he holds fast to his integrity, although you incited Me against him, to destroy him without cause.” So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Skin for skin! Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life. But stretch out Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will surely curse You to Your face!” And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, he is in your hand, but spare his life.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord, and struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. And he took for himself a potsherd with which to scrape himself while he sat in the midst of the ashes.
Job 2:3-8

Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!” But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips. Now when Job’s three friends heard of all this adversity that had come upon him, each one came from his own place—Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite. For they had made an appointment together to come and mourn with him, and to comfort him. And when they raised their eyes from afar, and did not recognize him, they lifted their voices and wept; and each one tore his robe and sprinkled dust on his head toward heaven. So they sat down with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his grief was very great.
Job 2:9-13

Great Questions On The Book Of Job
What Was God’s Will For Job?
Blessing!!!!!!!

Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.
Job 1:10

Now the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys.
Job 42:12

Why Did God Not Protect Job?

He Could Not At That Time
God Had No Choice
God Had No Recourse

God allowed Satan to come against Job not because it was God’s will, not because God desired it, not because God’s judgment upon Job’s sin and not because it was a blessing to Job.

He Only Allowed It Because He Had No Real Recourse.

Job Was In Satan’s Kingdom
Satan Had Legal Rights To Attack Job
There Was No Covenant
There Was No Mediator
There Was No Savior

Are New Testament Believers In The Same Place As Job?
No!!!!!!!!!!

We Have A Savior
We Have A Mediator
We Have Authority
We Have Weapons
We Have A Covenant
We Are Born Again
We Have God’s Spirit
We Have Power of The Holy Spirit
Have The Blood of Jesus
